Trump Claims Iran’s Military is ‘Totally Wiped Out’

President Donald Trump recently made a series of bold assertions regarding the current state of Iran’s military, stating: ‘Iran has no chance. They know it, they express it to me — then they go on TV and say how well they’re doing. They have no Navy, totally wiped out. They have no Air Force, totally wiped out. They have no anti-aircraft capability, totally wiped out. They have no radar, they have no leaders. The leaders are wiped out, the whole thing.’

Analysis: This statement exhibits a high degree of grotesqueness and detachment from reality. While the U.S. military possesses overwhelming technological superiority, the claim that Iran’s entire military infrastructure—including its Navy, Air Force, anti-aircraft systems, radar, and leadership—has been ‘totally wiped out’ in a short period is factually unsupported by current intelligence reports and the ongoing conflict in the Strait of Hormuz. If Iran’s military were truly ‘wiped out,’ the current U.S. ‘Project Freedom’ operation to escort ships through the Strait would not be facing active resistance, missile barrages, and drone attacks from Iranian forces. Trump’s rhetoric appears to be an attempt to project absolute dominance and psychological pressure on Tehran, but it contradicts the operational reality on the ground where Iranian forces continue to demonstrate the ability to strike commercial and military targets.
